The Correll Group – HV/O&M Division is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract from Vattenfall to supply two platform managers to oversee all works on the offshore substation for Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm – this involves all aspects of safely working offshore on a fully energised offshore substation platform.
Kriegers Flak is located in the Southern part of the Baltic Sea, 15-40 kilometres off the Danish coast in water depths between 16m and 25m. Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm, incorporating 72 turbines of 8.4MW with an installed capacity of 605MW, covers the annual energy consumption of approximately 600,000 Danish households – equivalent to 23 per cent of all households in Denmark.
Sam Dowey, Managing Director at Correll, commented; “We are delighted to announce this contract win as this is our first time providing substation platform managers to Vattenfall. The contract award builds upon an already excellent relationship and we look forward to growing our partnership with them on future projects”.
Flemming Stryg, HV-BoP at Vattenfall Windpower Kriegers Flak, commented; “During a cable replacement campaign that involved 24/7 manning of our 33/220 kV substation, Correll supplied the Person in Charge (PIC´s) to ensure safe operation while the work was ongoing.
“This was done in a very competent manner, and I can highly recommend the Correll Group’s services”.
