  • Correll Group awarded ERS Silver for their continued support to the Armed Forces Community

Correll are the proud recipients of the MOD’s Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award for our continued support of the Armed Forces Covenant. The Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support the armed forces community and inspire other organisations to do the same. The scheme encompasses Bronze, Silver and Gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the Armed Forces’ community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Having achieved the Bronze award earlier this year, Correll are honoured to achieve the Silver Award and pledge to continue to fully support the defence community in all that we do.

One of our own service veterans, Geoff Briggs, Operations Director commented: “We are delighted to be able to show our full support and commitment to ex-military personnel. Correll have been employing service veterans for many years and this next step formalises our ongoing pledge to supporting their equal opportunities within the community, economy and society that they have served.

“We look forward to building on our commitment to the armed forces community while working toward achieving Gold status in the near future”.

Major General Marc Overton Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Reserves & Cadets)

“I would like to thank and congratulate the recipients of this year’s Employer Recognition Scheme Silver awards. A Silver award recognises the fantastic efforts of employers throughout the UK who have both elevated their commitments under the Armed Forces Covenant and provided actual benefits to the Armed Forces Community. The winners should all be proud of their life-changing impact and fresh opportunities they are providing to our Reservists, veterans, and their families. The number of winners this year yet again shows that the Armed Forces family talent pool is also providing tangible business benefit”.

Brigadier Paul Baker, Chief Executive, North of England RFCA said:

“There has always been great support for the Armed Forces within the North East of England but the growing number of companies prepared to publicly demonstrate this support is truly heartening, especially in such challenging times. These Employer Recognition Scheme  awards are a recognition of the backing and encouragement provided to their employees who are also Reservists, Adult Volunteers within the Cadet Forces, Veterans and their families. Well done to you all”.

Jerry Moloney, Managing Director of VIVO Defence Services, said:

“I am really proud that we have received a Silver Award, which shows our continued commitment to supporting the armed forces community.  While we are a fairly new organisation, we have a strong track record of employing service leavers and have already exceeded our 20 percent target of employees having a military connection. We have also ensured we have positive policies to support them. In addition to this, we work closely with a number of veterans’ charities and arrange training placements for serving forces’ personnel to help prepare them for work in industry when they move back to civilian life”.

Brigadier (Ret’d) Simon Caraffi MBE JP Chairman of Trustees at HighGround, said:

“I am delighted that HighGround’s application for the Silver Award for the Employer Recognition Scheme has been successful.  In this our 10th year of operation this is very important recognition of HighGround’s work with serving personnel and veterans as the Charity continues to deliver and develop our services at DMRC Stanford Hall and our land-based sector employment work with Rural Weeks at the core”.
